Last year we took a wonderful trip to Cuba. We spent 12 days on a "people to people" exchange, touring the country and visiting artists studios, senior centers, historical landmarks, day care centers, fishing villages, museums and dance and music venues. The following paintings are faces and places from this fascinating country that touched me in some way.

2017 Annual WASH Open Show
Lost in Paris won the Julie Hoey Award for the year's annual WASH Open Show. My other
painting that was accepted for the show is Afterlife, a painting of the cemetery we visited in Lismore, Australia where my husband's great aunt is buried.

2016 WASH SHOW
Amazingly, for the second year in a row, I received the Best of Show award for one of my paintings at the annual open WASH show. This year it was for Fall Colors.
The painting is of persimmons from my back yard, in one of my pottery bowls, with some dried seed pods from the back yard, all sitting on my grandfather's rug, which I love to include in paintings.

Fair Time

This year I decided to try entering some paintings in art shows outside of Sacramento. News in Wellington was accepted to the California State Fair, one of 180 out of 1200 entries.
I also entered 3 paintings in the Amador County Fair and got a first, second and third.
