Signature Membership in California Watercolor Association

My painting, On the Bayou, was accepted for the 54th National CWA Exhibition.  This was the third painting I've had accepted into a National CWA Exhibition which means that I now have CWA signature status.  It is very nice to achieve this goal.

Last fall I entered the WASH 45th Annual Open Exhibition and received the Images of Light Award for A Few Treasures.

I've also updated the blog to include other recent paintings

Spring 2022 Update

I haven't updated my blog in awhile, actually a year!  I've only had paintings in two shows in that time.

In the fall of 2021 I entered 3 paintings in the 43rd Annual WASH Open Show.  End of Season won the Donald and Dorothy Steed Award.

Recent Shows

I have had paintings in two shows so far in 2021.

The Smoker was accepted to the 51st National Exhibition of the California Watercolor Association.   The painting is of a gentleman I saw in Cuba.   It was particularly exciting that two of the women I paint with every week (via Zoom in 2020) also had paintings accepted.

I had three paintings accepted to the Sacramento WASH Members Show.  A Summer Hug got an Award of Merit.

Paintings from Africa

In August 2019 we took a fascinating trip to Zimbabwe, Botswana and Zambia.  We stayed in lovely camps in national game preserves and saw amazing animals. We have millions of photos and from those I did these few paintings.

2020 WASH Members Show

I'm excited that my painting, Waiting for a Chat, was awarded Best of Show for the 2020 WASH Members Show.

This painting is of the chairs along one of the pathways in Luxembourg Garden in Paris.  I love that these chairs, which can be moved anyway you want, are all over the gardens of Paris.  It is such a friendly way to share these beautiful spaces.  Hopefully, they will be filled with people again soon.

Two other paintings were accepted for the show.

Union Hall Gallery Show

Our Tuesday Artists group had its first gallery show this June.  We had paintings hanging at the Union Hall Gallery at 2126 K Street in June, with a Second Saturday event on June 8.  It was great fun.  We each had four paintings hanging in the show.  Here are the four I had included:

A Day's Work

Afterlife

Dancing with Ghosts

Smart Wool
